Rules
<<<<<Biggest Rule Of All>>>>>
Anything seen, done, or heard at the Munchies, and especially at Parties. is to remain at the party or munchies.
>>WHY? All of us Have Life's outside these Group. Some of the Information that is shared or showed if it were to enter our Work Life. it could do some serious Damage
Unfortunately rules are needed for any BDSM organization. Some groups have more
rules than others, but they usually break down into the same tenets. Here are
Dayton-BDSM & some other Group's rules:
1. General
1.1 Respect the privacy wishes of other members, no outing other members or
revealing their participation in the group.
>>Why? Every person has the right to reveal as little or as much about
their lifestyle. It's a gross imposition on them to override their privacy
needs.
1.2 Attendees of any Dayton BDSM Group function must be at least 18 years old.
>>Why? Topics and activities may be sexual in nature.
2. Munches
2.1 Please wear street-legal clothing.
>>Why? Munches are held in public restaurants and finding locations to
host a large number of people w/o an upfront fee or restricted menu is
difficult.
3. Meetings
3.1 Please arrive on time as the doors will be locked soon after the meeting
starts.
>>Why? We've had people wander into the meeting place who were not
there to attend a Dayton BDSM Group function. This causes a disruption to the meeting
(or demonstration) and could result in the privacy of Dayton BDSM Group members being
compromised.
4. Parties
4.1 Dayton-BDSM Group members and pre-approved guests only who must arrive with
them and leave with them.
4.2 Before attending a party a guest must have attended At 2 (two) Munches
before being invited to a Party
>>Why? Parties are currently being held at member's homes so we only
allow 'known' people to attend. Most groups have some sort of screening or
review process for new members. We use meetings to accomplish this.
4.3
No penetration or exchange of body fluids during the official party hours.
Unless already Agreed to by Both Paties involved and a seperate area is used.
>>Why? Legal issues plus the fact that many people are uncomfortable
with or being around public sex. Please note, the rule is for official party
hours. Once the official party ends then the house rules apply.
4.4 No alcohol use or being intoxicated at any group event where BDSM activities
occur. No recreational drug use or arriving under the influence at any
Dayton-BDSM Group event.
>>Why? Drugs and alcohol do not promote safe, sane, and consensual
play. The presence of drugs and/or alcohol also creates some serious legal
issues. Anyone violating this rule will be asked to leave the event and will
forfeit not only the donation paid for the event, but their membership. This
rule will also continue as "a house rule" after the official Dayton
BDSM
party has ended. The hosts of our party spaces have agreed that they wish it to
remain as "a house rule". Dayton BDSM Group has zero tolerance for this type
of behavior and will make every effort to ensure that this rule is enforced.
4.5 No cameras or recording devices at the parties.
>>Why? Privacy concerns. Dayton BDSM Group has an official photographer at
each party who will not take your picture without prior permission.
4.6 A waiver must be signed at each party.
>>Why? The waiver provides legal protection for the home owner and
group.
4.7 No television or video tapes during the main party hours.
>>Why?
We decided on this because TV tends to put a damper on interaction among people.
5. Donations
5.1 No donation is requested at a Munch.
>>Why?
There are no costs associated with holding a munch. The Munches will now be
Potluck. Bring something to share with the others.
5.2 Although a Donation will not be turned away.
6. Committee Members
6.1 Committee members will attend most, if not all, board meetings.
>>Why? We would like you to keep informed on what is going on in the
Group.
6.2 Anyone Can Join the Committee, just have the need to help out
How these rules were made
The rules are a result of combining common BDSM group practices, safety and
legal concerns, member input, and reacting to issues that arise from time to
time. The rules have evolved over time being set by the people actively running
the group (the Committee). Major changes are discussed and voted on at the group
meetings.
